Life

1681 was Michael II Apafi already chosen his father's lifetime, by the Diet to succeed him. At his death, on 15 April 1690 Michael II was 13 years old and only nominal prince. Two months later appointed Sultan Süleyman II on June 8, 1690 Emmerich Thokoly prince. Michael II then fled and returned only on January 10, 1692 after the expulsion of Thokoly by the imperial commander Ludwig of Baden back.
