Michael Kilian (German academic)

Michael Kilian ( born February 13, 1949 in Geislingen ) is a German jurist and former state constitution judges.

Kilian to 1982 was private secretary to the president of the EC Commission, Walter Hallstein.

Kilian was in 1985 with Thomas Oppermann and Wolfgang Graf Vitzthum, with a thesis on "Environmental Protection through International Organisations " Dr. iur. doctorate and his habilitation in 1990 in the public finance law on the subject of " subsidiary budgets of the Federation" Thomas Oppermann and Ferdinand Kirchhof at the University of Tübingen. In 1990 he became a full professor at the University of Heidelberg. Since 1992 Kilian taught at the Martin -Luther- University Halle- Wittenberg, where he held the Chair of Public Law, International and European Law, finance and environmental law. In 2014 he became Professor Emeritus. From 1993 to 2000, Kilian judge at the State Constitutional Court of Saxony -Anhalt.

Kilian is a contributing editor of the magazine for philanthropy and member of the Board of the Foundation Leucorea in Wittenberg. He published alongside themes from his legal specialty on politics and law of the State of Saxony- Anhalt and the salaries of his art to literature, aesthetics and history. Thus he writes himself, he is "trying cumbersome enough to make the public aware of the country's artistic and cultural treasures of attention, " the " dormant " in Saxony- Anhalt.
