Michael " Mimi " Kraus ( born September 28, 1983 in Göppingen ) is a German handball player. He's been playing the 2013/14 season at Frisch Auf Göppingen Handball Bundesliga. His international debut in DHB - jersey was on 25 March 2005 against Russia in Paris.

Career

Its position in the national team and in the club is back center of the room. On 28 January 2008 he was removed by the then national coach Heiner Brand for the next matches from the Germany squad. Fire did this by pointing to his opinion, poor performances at the European Championships 2008. With some good performances in the Bundesliga he could, however, play back into the team. On 20 February 2008 he was back in the squad of the national team. He was also part of the 2008 DHB Olympic team at the Olympic Games in Beijing. After he had not played for three years in the national team, Kraus was on April 4, 2014 Hungary a comeback.

Kraus won in 2013 with the HSV Hamburg the Champions League. With six goals he contributed to the final victory 30:29 N.V. over FC Barcelona.

2000 Michael Kraus was elected as a 16- year-old by the readers of the youth magazine Bravo for " Boy of the Year" and received DM 20,000 win bonus. His twin sister Alena came to vote for the " Girl of the Year" in the top 10

His brother Christian Kraus is junior world champion in saber fencing.

For his change from TBV Lemgo for HSV Hamburg in 2010 a payment of 300,000 euros was due; according to information on the website handball-world.com paid Kraus itself a large part of this sum from his private fortune.
