Michael Krause

Michael Krause ( born July 24, 1946 in Magdeburg ) is a former German national hockey player and sports official. He is married and has two children. He currently works as a lawyer and notary in Dortmund.

Michael Krause grew up in Cologne and joined the local KKHT black and white. He played 82 times for the German national hockey team, and participated in three Olympic Games. His biggest international success was winning the European Champion title in 1970 and the Olympic gold medal in 1972 in Munich. In the final game on September 10 against Pakistan Krause converted a penalty corner in the 60.Minute a 1-0 final score.

In 1978 he moved from occupationally Bundesliga black and white TSC Eintracht Dortmund to Cologne, whose presidency he presides as speaker since 1988. From 1993 to 1999 he was President of the German Hockey Federation, whose honorary president he is today. He served for many years chaired the circle group Dortmund of the German Olympic Society and was a member of the National Olympic Committee for Germany. From 2000 to 2003 he was Chairman of the Board of Willi Daume Foundation and received from the hand of the then IOC President Samaranch Olympic medals.

Michael Krause is a member of the control committee of the World Hockey Association.
