Michael Lehmann

Michael Lehmann ( born March 30, 1957 in San Francisco, California) is an American film director.

Life

Michael Lehmann attended Columbia University. His first job in the film industry, he had Zoetrope in Francis Ford Coppola American film production company, where he answered the phone. Later he was responsible for the cameras on film sets such as The Outsiders (1983). He attended the Film Academy at the University of Southern California and made his final 1985. Still a USC student, he made ​​his first film Beaver Gets a Boner, with which he wanted to attract attention with the film companies.

Michael Lehmann is best known for the black comedy Heathers with Winona Ryder and Christian Slater. In 1990 he was awarded the prize for the best debut film for this film together with the producer Denise Di Novi at the Independent Spirit Awards.

Lehmann also directed in 40 Days and 40 Nights, The Truth About Cats, Hudson Hawk and Airheads.
