Michael Leslie

Michael Leslie ( born January 28, 1993) is a Scottish snooker player from Bonnyrigg, near Edinburgh.

Career

DIOS Tour, Q - School and PTC tournaments as an amateur

By participating in the DIOS Tournament Series 2009/ 10, Leslie tried for the first time to qualify for the main tour. However, he reached the second round only once at one of the eight tournaments, so he landed at the end of the season only on the 50th place in the overall rankings.

In the season 2010/11 he took up at the tournaments of the Q School, which had the DIOS series replaced. He managed, however, only one of the three tournaments the quarter-finals of his group, that could once again earn no profit status.

During the season 2011/12 Leslie participated in 5 of 12 tournaments in the Players Tour Championship 2011/12. He met three times in the round of the last 128 to a professional ( Peter Lines, Luca Brecel or Martin Gould ) and lost each time with 2:4.

EBSA Junior Snooker Championship Europe

In the EBSA European Championship Junior Snooker Leslie participated regularly and improved from year to year continuously. While he succeeded in 2008 only to the round of last 32, he moved in with the following two events have a first knockout round. There he was defeated each subsequent pros Luca Brecel (2009 ) and Sam Craigie (2010).

In the two following years he played each to the final after he first Kacper Filipiak was defeated in the 2011 final with 3:6, he finally won in 2012 with a 6-2 victory against Shane Castle and thus qualified for the main tour the season 2012/13. He scored two Century Breaks.

Others

As the first Scottish amateur Leslie succeeded in September 2011 a maximum break in less than eight minutes.
