Michaël Lévinas

Michaël Levinas ( Levinas also; born April 18, 1949 in Paris ) is a French composer and a member of the group l' Itinéraire ( the route ).

Michaël Levinas is one of the representatives of spectral music. He studied composition with Olivier Messiaen and Yvonne Loriod piano with his wife. Gérard Grisey addition, Tristan Murail, Roger Tessier, he is one of the founding members of the ensemble launched in 1973 Paris L' Itinéraire. He prefers in his works consciously so-called "dirty" or hybrid sounds.

He is the son of the philosopher Emmanuel Levinas.
