Michael Madsen

Michael Søren Madsen ( born September 25, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois ) is an American actor. He is known for his roles in Reservoir Dogs, Species, Thelma and Louise, Donnie Brasco, Sin City and Kill Bill.

Life and work

Michael Madsen's youth was marked by tragic events: nine years old his parents separated, he moved frequently to school, he committed theft and was in prison several times.

The first time in acting Madsen worked for the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago, where he has worked among others with John Malkovich. After minor roles in the films WarGames, The Doors and Thelma & Louise, he has become known to a wider audience for the first time as Mr. Blonde in Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs (1992). A further boost in popularity had in the first half of the nineties his role in Pulp Fiction can trigger (1994). Because Madsen already for Wyatt Earp - The life of a legend had been occupied, but he could not accept that eventually portrayed by John Travolta role of Vincent Vega.

In the following years he has acted in supporting roles in several successful productions, including, inter alia, species, and Free Willy 2 - include freedom at risk. Aside from acting, Madsen also concerned with poetry. Over the years, four books of poems from his pen have emerged.

In his first marriage he was married to Georganne LaPiere, the half sister of Cher. From his second marriage with Jeannine Bisignano comes their son Christian. Since 1996, he is married to Anna De Morgan, with whom he has three sons. His younger sister Virginia is also a renowned actress.
