Michael McKean

Michael McKean ( born October 17, 1947 in New York City ) is an American actor.

Life and achievements

McKean was at the end of the 1960s, a member of the comedy group The Credibility Gap, which occurred up to the year 1976 in radio broadcasts. In the comedy Kiss Me, Doc (1982 ), he played one of the major roles on the side of Sean Young.

1984 McKean played alongside Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer one of the main roles in the film This is Spinal Tap.

In the comedy number 5 does not give up (1988 ) he became one of the main roles. In the comedy That Darn Cat ( 1997), he played the role of Peter Randall, the father of Patti Randall, played by Christina Ricci. 2003 McKean played again on the side of Guest and Shearer in the musical film A Mighty Wind. For this film, he also composed several songs, including the song A Kiss at the End of the Rainbow, which he co-wrote with Annette O'Toole and for which the two were awarded the Seattle Film Critics Award. For the title track of the film, which had McKean written by Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy, 2004 he won a Grammy Award and the Broadcast Film Critics Association Award. He was also nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Satellite Award.

McKean was married in 1970 to 1993 with Susan Russell, with whom he has two children. In 1999, he married Annette O'Toole.
