Michael McMahon

Michael E. " Mike" McMahon ( born September 12, 1957 Staten Iceland, New York ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party and was from 2009 to 2011 a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the state of New York.

Biography

McMahon was born on Staten Iceland. He has Irish and German ancestors. At the New York University and New York Law School, he received his degree. He was then working for the members of the State Assembly Eric Nicholas Vitaliano and Elizabeth Connelly. Before his election to the New York City Council ( City Council ) in 2001, he worked as a lawyer. In the City Council, he was a member until 2008.

In 2009 he was selected for the 13th Congressional District of New York as successor to Vito Fossella to U.S. House of Representatives. The district includes Staten Iceland and parts of Brooklyn. In the House, he is a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. At the 2010 elections, he could not defend his seat. His seat will take from January 2011 Republican Michael Grimm.

McMahon is married to Judith Novellino McMahon and lives on Staten Iceland. He is Roman Catholic faith. Since 1981 he is member of the Corps Saxo - Borussia Heidelberg.
