Michael Mutzel

Michael Mutzel ( born September 27, 1979 in Memmingen ) is a former German football player.

Career

In 1999 Mutzel, in part, together with his later club colleague Christian Timm, at the Junior World Championship.

Since 2004 Mutzel plays for Karlsruher SC, earlier he was at VfB Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt under contract. In his youth he played for FC Augsburg, FC Memmingen, TSG Thannhausen and the SV Greimeltshofen.

The defensive midfielder was only at its third station establish itself as a professional footballer in the starting eleven of the KSC and extended his 2009 expiring contract prematurely until 30 June 2011. Thereafter, his contract was not renewed.

Mutzel signed in January 2012 after a half year break at the U23 VfL Wolfsburg. There he was given a contract until 30 June 2014. On 22 March 2012, the contract between Mutzel and VfL Wolfsburg was disbanded for personal reasons. In July 2012, Mutzel signed a contract as a youth coach and youth coordinator at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
