Michael Rensing ( born May 14, 1984 in Lingen ( Ems) ) is a German football goalkeeper.
Club career
Youth
The son of a German father and a Serbian mother played in the youth team of the Lower Saxony club TuS Lingen. He moved in 2000 to the youth department of FC Bayern Munich, with whom he 2001 B and 2002 A Junior Championship won. From the season 2002/ 03 he was a member of the Regional Team. Rensing played his first game on May 8, 2002 ( 31 Matchday) in a 3-0 away win over the SSV Jahn Regensburg. In the Regionalliga Süd he came to 114 inserts.
FC Bayern Munich
From the season 2003/ 04 Rensing was a member of the first team squad of FC Bayern. On February 21, 2004 ( 21 Round ) 1-0 home victory over Hamburger SV he played his first Bundesliga game. He graduated in the season another and also won the championship in the Regionalliga Süd. The following season he was in the first team four times at point games and twice in the DFB Cup competition used. In the following season, he took part in six games of the professional team. It was first used in the League Cup. After goalkeeper Oliver Kahn had been canceled due to injury, Rensing was careful on 21 February 2006, the goal in the Champions League match against AC Milan (1:1). 2006/ 07 he was once, in 2007/ 08 ten times in goal.
After Kahn had ended his career, Rensing was for 2008/ 09 goalkeeper of Bayern. His first loss as Bundesliga Goalkeeper he suffered on Matchday 5 at 2:5 at home to Werder Bremen. With total of 27 missions without defeat since his debut on 21 February 2004 Rensing had previously surpassed the record set by Dirk Wolf as the best Bundesliga debutant. After the 1:5 defeat on 4 April 2009 (26th Round ) at VfL Wolfsburg he was under coach Jurgen Klinsmann to the end of the season no longer first choice - was preferred until further notice, the previous goalkeeper Hans- Jorg Butt.
At the beginning of the 2009/10 season Rensing was first used by the new Bayern coach Louis van Gaal again as goalkeeper. After some uncertainty in the initial encounters Rensing had from the 4th Round Butt but again let go first. On 25 May 2010 it was announced that Rensing's contract would not be renewed. Then he left Bayern and was starting in June without a club. He stayed at his own expense with his former Munich youth goalkeeper coach Daniel Weber at the District Oberliga VfR Garching fit. Beginning of November 2010, he completed a trial with English second division club Leicester City. However, a subsequent contract offer he refused.
New beginning in the Rhineland
On 21 December 2010 Rensing signed a contract with FC Cologne 1. The Bundesliga club signed him until the end of the season in place of Faryd Mondragón with an option to extend. Almost a year after his last Bundesliga game in the 3-2 win on 23 January 2010 (19 Matchday) in the away game against Werder Bremen, Rensing returned to the Bundesliga. On 16 January 2011, he reached the " Billy Goats " to the back half kick-off with a 1-1 draw at the 1 FC Kaiserslautern, later even a win against his former club. Due to its strong performance of the first FC Cologne extended his end of the season expiring contract in March 2011 by two years until 2013.
After the descent of the 1st FC Cologne in May 2012, a break in the financially weak people of Cologne was launched, in which, among others, Michael Rensing was given the opportunity to orient themselves differently. Therefore, in August, he became deputy goalkeeper Bernd Leno free transfer to Bayer 04 Leverkusen. He signed a contract until 30 June 2013. For the 2013/14 season Rensing moved to the 2nd Bundesliga to Fortuna Dusseldorf. He signed a contract for two years until 30 June 2015. 's Coach of Fortuna, Mike Büskens, had told him just before the first league match against Energie Cottbus, that he will be only Goalkeeper number two behind Fabian Giefer this season, he should have summarily left the Esprit Arena and be driven home by car, which is why he was removed from Büskens immediately from the squad and replaced by Robin Heller. National
Rensing was wearing the jersey of the national team for the first time on August 15, 2001 in ironworks city, as the U-18 lost to the choice of Poland 1:2. This was followed by seven more missions before winning 10-0 victory on 3 October 2002 in Bad Hersfeld with the U- 19 against the selection of San Marino. On 18 February 2004 he gave his debut in Dusseldorf in the U -20 's 2-1 victory against Italy, he came off the bench for the second half. As a substitute goalkeeper behind Tim Wiese, he participated in the U-21 European Football Championships 2004 but did not play.
