Michael Roiz

Michael Roiz ( born October 10, 1983 in the Soviet Union) is an Israeli chess master.

Roiz has learned chess from his father with six, the family is three years later moved from Russia to Israel.

Roiz conquered or occupied top positions in several tournaments: 2nd place in the U14 European Junior Championships in Tallinn (1997 ), 3rd place at the Shavuot Masters (1997 ), 3rd place in the tournament Autumn International in Tel Aviv (1998 ), 1 place at the tournament in Valjevo (2007) and 2nd place in the tournament in Lublin (2007). For the Israeli national team, he played in the Chess Olympiad 2004 in Calvia and the Chess Olympiad 2008 in Dresden, where he has won with the team the silver medal.

In 2000 he received the title of International Master, since 2003 it bears the grandmaster title. In the season 2010/11 the German Chess League, he plays for Werder Bremen, the first was the season 2008/09. In Austria, he plays for the SK Sparkasse Fürstenfeld.
