Michael Schiechl

Michael Schickl ( born January 29, 1989 in Jews castle ) is an Austrian ice hockey player who plays since 2012 at the Vienna Capitals in the Erste Bank Hockey League to the position of the center.

Career

Schickl began his career with the EV Zeltweg. As a 16 -year-old, he moved to Sweden and played the following three years for Leksand IF. In the summer of 2008, he finally returned to Austria and ran to one year for the EC Graz 99ers. For the season 2009/10 he moved to league rivals EC Red Bull Salzburg. With the Mozart city dwellers, he won the 2010 IIHF Continental Cup and the Austrian Championship title. The national title win Red Bull repeated the following year.

Internationally

For his home country Schickl played at the U18 World Junior Championships Division I 2006 and 2007 and the U20 World Junior Championships Division I in 2007, 2008 and 2009. 2009 he managed with the Austrians promotion to the top division, was there he best assist provider of the tournament group.

With the seniors choice, he participated in the 2011 World Championships in Slovakia. He was re-nominated after completion of the preliminary round as one of two actors.
