Michael Schindhelm

Michael Schindhelm ( born October 1, 1960 in Eisenach ) is a German author, cultural consultant and theater director.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1979 at the special classes for chemistry in Merseburg he studied at the Voronezh State University (Russia) and finished his studies with a diploma quantum chemist. From 1984 to 1986 he was a research assistant at the Central Institute for Physical Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences in East Berlin. There he worked in the Department of Theoretical Chemistry (Director: Lutz Zülicke ), where he shared the office with the there are also active Angela Merkel. He then worked until 1990 as a translator, writer and dramaturg.

Work

In addition Schindhelm operates since 1990 as a writer, librettist, and translator ( from Russian ). Since 2000, he has published six novels and non-fiction. His book about the experience in Dubai was published in 2009 in German under the title Dubai speed and 2011 in English under the title Dubai High. For the opera black earth of the composer Klaus Huber wrote the libretto (Basel, 2001), as well as for the opera worlds of mercury light of the composer Cong Su ( Berlin, 2006).
