Michael Sgarbossa

Michael Sgarbossa ( born July 25, 1992 Campbellville, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. Since February 2012, he is with the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League under contract and playing in parallel for their farm team Lake Erie Monsters in the American Hockey League on the position of the center.

Career

Sgarbossa began his career with the Halton Hurricanes in the South - Central Triple A Hockey League. After the 2007/ 08 season he was in the Priority Selection of the Ontario Hockey League ( OHL ) selected in the third round to 54th position from the Barrie Colts. The player then decided for a change in the OHL, and came into the season 2008 /09 in 67 games for the Colts used.

On 9 November 2009 he was transferred from the Barrie Colts to the Saginaw Spirit. On 21 September 2010 he signed a three-year entry-level contract with the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League ( NHL). For the Saginaw offensive athlete completed a total of 74 games before he was released to a barter transaction to the Sudbury Wolves on December 9, 2010. In the OHL season 2010/11 Sgarbossa still came in 37 games available for use, thereby pass him 29 goals and 62 points scorer. Sgarbossa was elected OHL Player of the Month March after he succeeded in 13 games 10 goals and 17 assists. Playtime Cross, he scored a total of 82 points and was the most successful actor in the Wolves this season.

In the following season, his rights were transferred on 27 February 2012 from the Sharks to the Colorado Avalanche. Shortly thereafter, he was appointed OHL Player of the month of February. This month he scored in 13 games with 13 goals and 12 assists. Sgarbossa finished the OHL season with 102 points scorer as the most successful points scorer of the Ontario Hockey League and thus won the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy. He was the first OHL scorer of Sudbury Wolves since Mike Foligno in the season 1978 / 79th In addition, he was selected All- Star team in the OHL First and received in choosing the best player in the league ( Red Tilson Trophy ) behind Michael Houser is the second most votes.

As a result, Michael Sgarbossa by the Avalanche to their farm team Lake Erie Monsters in the American Hockey League ( AHL ) was sent, where he had his first missions with the start of the AHL season 2012/13 as a professional player. Sgarbossa scored a total of 36 points scorer in the first 38 games of the AHL season 2012/ 13 and was honored with participation in the AHL All- Star Classic in 2013. Subsequently, he was appointed to the cadre of the Colorado Avalanche and completed on January 30, 2013 against the Vancouver Canucks to be first game in the National Hockey League ( NHL).

Internationally

Michael Sgarbossa represented his country with the Canadian national team for the first time at the U18 Junior World Cup in 2010. The Center came in all six games of Canadians, a field that scored a goal and an Assist
