Michael Sheard

Michael Sheard ( born June 18, 1938 in Aberdeen, Scotland, † August 31, 2005 on the Isle of Wight, England ) was a British actor.

Life

Michael Sheard was born in the Scottish city of Aberdeen, the son of a clergyman Donald Perkins Marriot. The name Sheard was his mother's maiden name.

He attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, but he did not finish his education, but joined the Royal Air Force at.

After his military service to Sheard decided to return to acting. In the following years he played many small roles in various television series and movies. However, the films in which he participated were extremely successful. Among his most famous engagements included the roles of Admiral Ozzel in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and that of Adolf Hitler in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Throughout his career, Michael Sheard worked with many famous and renowned performers such as Sir Laurence Olivier, Sir David Niven, Elliott Gould, Roger Moore, Stefanie Powers, John Wayne, Michael York, Jenny Agutter, Sir Sean Connery or Harrison Ford

On television, he had several appearances in the science fiction series called Doctor Who, where he played on the side of the first, third, fourth, fifth and seventh Doctor.

Michael Sheard died on 31 August 2005 on the Isle of Wight from cancer. He was married to Ros Sheard and leaves behind three children.

Trivia

In his film career, Sheard presented very frequently Nazi leaders from the Third Reich dar. He played three times Heinrich Himmler and Adolf Hitler five times.
