Michael Strahan

Michael Strahan ( born November 21, 1971 in Houston, Texas ) is an American former American football player at the position of the defensive ends. He played 15 years with the New York Giants in the National Football League ( NFL) and won with them in his last season the Super Bowl (XLII ).

Career

Michael Strahan grew up as the son of an American soldier on in Mannheim. There he began as a teenager with American football at an American high school in the Benjamin Franklin Village in Mannheim- Käfertal. After studying at Texas Southern University, he was selected in the second round of the 1993 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. There he counted as a defender to the service providers. In the years 1997 to 1999, 2001 to 2003 and in 2005 he was elected to the Pro Bowl seven times. In 2001, he scored 22.5 Sacks, most in the league. This year he was also elected Defensive Player of the Year. 3 February 2008 Strahan won with the New York Giants Super Bowl XLII against the favored New England Patriots. In June 2008, four months after winning the Super Bowl the then 36 -year-old ended his career. In February 2014 he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
