Michael Lennart Svensson ( born November 25, 1975 in Värnamo ) is a Swedish football player.

Life

Svensson started his career with unterklassig gambling IFK Värnamo. In 1998, he debuted for Halmstad BK in Allsvenskan. With the club he won the 2000 Swedish champions title. In the 2001 /02 season he played for ES Troyes AC in the French Ligue 1 in the summer of 2002 he moved to FC Southampton, which in 2005 he remained faithful in spite of relegation from the FA Premier League. Due to a knee injury he got in his last two seasons at Southampton hardly used; from 2007 Svensson was briefly vertragslos.

On 17 August 1999 Svensson made ​​his debut in the national team in the game against Austria. In the 2002 World Cup, although he was in the squad but did not play.

On 17 December 2009 it was announced that Michael Svensson, the new assistant coach of his former club Halmstad BK is on the side of Lars " Lasse " Jacobsson. He finally held this office from 2010 to 2011. Since 2011 he is also surprisingly usable as sporadic player in the professional squad of Halmstad BK.
