Michael Sziedat

Michael Sziedat ( born August 22, 1952) is a German football player.

Sziedat played for Hertha BSC and Eintracht Frankfurt a total of 379 times in the Bundesliga, scoring 16 goals. His 280 Bundesliga appearances for the Berlin meant it until March 13, 2010, when he was surpassed by Pal Dardai, a club record.

Sziedat began playing football in 1961 Lichterfelde 12 and later moved to BFC Preussen. He played in the A- youth national team of the DFB. Had begun his career at the Bundesliga leaders Hertha, where he moved in 1971. The defender left after the Bundesliga relegation in 1980 Hertha to play another four years in Frankfurt Eintracht Frankfurt. In the 1984/85 season he played one last time for Hertha BSC in the 2nd league and ran there on a total of 18 times.

Sziedat came to 54 missions in the DFB Cup. Of which he played 10 games for Eintracht Frankfurt and the remaining 42 games for Hertha, where he scored 1 goal. He also came to 28 European games, including 12 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt. With the harmony he was 1981 DFB Cup winner on May 2.

After his active football career Sziedat opened in the south of Berlin, a sports shop and play casually for years in all the " old boys' teams " Hertha BSC. Later he ran together with his wife, two hair salons in Zehlendorf. In spring 2012 Sziedat criticized the Hertha Bureau to Werner Gegenbauer and manager Michael Preetz several times in the press. Sziedat then ran to the Annual General Meeting 2012 unsuccessfully for the presidency.

Sziedat learned the trade of a retail merchant.
