Michael Tye (philosopher)

Michael Tye is a philosopher and professor at the University of Texas at Austin. His work focuses on the philosophy of mind and the basis for debate in cognitive science.

Tye represents a materialist theory of mind, which systematically va on the notion of representation. Also qualia, the subjective experience levels of consciousness should be explained as part of a representational theory.

Tye also has an important contribution to Imagery debate in cognitive science done. This dispute revolves around the question of how pictorial idea is to interpret scientifically.
