Michał Marian Siedlecki

Michał Siedlecki Marian ( born September 8, 1873 in Krakow, † January 11, 1940 in Sachsenhausen concentration camp ) was a Polish marine biologist. He founded in 1923 the Institute of Marine Research on the Hel peninsula and worked at the Universities of Strasbourg, Vilnius and Krakow. As part of the promotion Cracow, he was arrested on Monday, November 6, 1939 by the SS -Sturmbannführer Bruno Müller with over 100 professors and deported to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, where he died the following year.

In the People's Republic of Poland, the Institute for Marine Fisheries, and a fisheries research vessel received its name.
