Michal Neuvirth

Michal Neuvirth ( born March 23, 1988 in Ústí nad Labem, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since March 2014 at the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Michal Neuvirth started his career as a hockey player in his Czech homeland in the youth of the HC Sparta Prague, for which he was active from 2003 to 2006. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2006 in the second round than a total of 34 players from the Washington Capitals. First, however, the goalkeeper played from 2006 to 2008 for two years in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League, where he stood for the Plymouth Whalers, Windsor Spitfires and the last the Oshawa Generals on the ice.

At the beginning of the 2008/09 season made ​​it Neuvirth neither in the NHL squad of capital, nor in the AHL Hershey Bears squad. Instead, he tried to get into his home when HC Ocelari Třinec a contract. When this attempt failed, he returned to North America and played for the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL.
