Michalis Sifakis

Michalis Sifakis (Greek Μιχάλης Σηφάκης, born September 9, 1984 in Heraklion) is a Greek football player.

Career

Michalis Sifakis began his professional career with OFI Crete, where from 1999 to 2002 was active first in the second team and was then beholt in the first team, where he spent a further five years, and as a then 22 -year-old captain was. After nearly a hundred games for Crete 2007, he moved to Olympiakos Piraeus. He stood there in the shadow of experienced Antonios Nikopolidis, was usually only goalkeeper, but however, took the championship, the cup final and winning the Greek Super Cup his first title. At the international level the keeper came from 2005 to 15 appearances in the U- 21 team of his country. However, he had to wait until 2009 to Otto Rehhagel called him into the senior national team, and he played on October 14 in the qualifying match for the FIFA World Cup 2010 his first international match against Luxembourg. He qualified with Greece for the World Cup and stood as the third goalkeeper in the World Cup squad.
