Michéal Ó hUiginn

Mícheál Ó hUiginn ( * 1942 ) is a former Irish politician.

Ó hUiginn belonged from 1964 to 2004, when he retired, the City Council of Galway (Galway City Council ) to. During this time he was three times Mayor of the City, July 1972-June 1973, July 1979 to June 1980 and from July 1995 to June 1996. During his second term as mayor visited Pope John Paul II, on the one Ireland trip was, on September 30, 1979, the city.

Ó hUiginn is director of Ó hUiginn Teoranta, Galway and a member of the Governing Authority of the National University of Ireland, Galway. On 27 June 2008 it was from the Galway National University of Ireland, awarded an honorary doctorate Doctor of Laws.
