Michel Ocelot

Michel Ocelot ( born October 27, 1943 in Villefranche -sur -Mer ) is a French animated film maker, who was with the award-winning sleeper hit Kirikou and the Sorceress, an African fairy tales, internationally known in 1998.

Career

The South of France Ocelot spent much of his childhood in Guinea. Inspired by the Lotte Reiniger's silhouettes he wanted to make his own films. In 1982 he got his first César for the short film La Légende du pauvre bossu. Kirikou and the Sorceress, his first feature film, won the 1999 Prize of the Festival d' Animation Annecy. Several sequels followed. Azur et Asmar was born in 2006 on the computer. In 2007, he rotates the video for Bjork's Earth Intruders. Several of Ocelots film productions have also been awarded at the Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart. His last resulting 3D animation production Kirikou et les hommes et les femmes 2013 celebrated the Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart 's German premiere.
