Michel Renquin

Michel Renquin ( born November 3, 1955 in Bastogne ) is a former Belgian footballer and current coach.

Playing career

Renquin began his career with the youth team of the JFC Wibrin. In 1974 he joined Standard Liège. During this time he was in 1981 Belgian Cup winners and Belgian Supercup winner. In 1981 he spent a year with the RSC Anderlecht, after which he worked for three years in Switzerland to Servette Geneva. In Switzerland in 1985 he was champion and 1984 Cup Winners' Cup. In 1985 he returned to Liège and remained until 1988. From 1988 to 1989 he played a season at FC Sion in Switzerland.

International players career

Internationally, he played 55 times for Belgium. He took part in the European Championships in Italy in 1980, where he was with the team vice European champion. At the World Championships 1982 World Cup in Spain, he retired with the team still in the second group stage, but he was able to celebrate the World Cup 1986 in Mexico the greatest success in the history of the national team of Belgium, as the team finished fourth surprising.

Coaching career

Renquins most famous coach station was that of OGC Nice in France, after which he still trained in Algeria the MC Alger and various other Belgian clubs.
