Michel Stievenard

Michel Stievenard ( born September 21, 1937 in Waziers, Nord ) is a former French footballer.

Club career

The professional career of athletic, fast and prolific left wing, which it, however, lacked a sense of self security, began in the 1954/55 season when Erstdivisionär RC Lens; Stievenard at this time was only 17 years old and played as many league games. He finally was a regular but only from 1956/57, when the North French were for the second consecutive runner-up. In his seven years at the Racing Club, this remained his best league rankings. Also in the cup competition Stievenard did not succeed in winning the title; only 1958, he stood in the semi-final, the then but was lost 1:2 against Stade Reims. The team was later Ahmed Oudjani strongly positioned straight on the offensive with Maryan Wisnieski and Egon Jönsson and had with Xerces Louis and Guillaume Bieganski but also experienced defensive stalwarts as well as at times, with Bernard Chiarelli a technical field runners in its ranks.

In 1961 he left his native region and played another seven years for the SCO Angers, which, however, except for 1966/67 - League of third parties, even if clearly distanced from the AS Saint- Étienne and FC Nantes - was always placed only in mid-table and also personally as a " gray mouse Division 1" was; Michel Stievenards most famous players were there the outer rotor and the inner Kazimir Hnatow striker Stéphane Bruey and Claude Dubaële. Also in the cup, it reached only to two semi-finals (1962 and 1966). The attacker dived after all, in his first season with 15 goals for Angers on rank 9 of the scoring charts. With the descent of the SCO in the Division 2 (1968 ) ended Stievenards career after over 400 games and more than 100 goals in the top division. Where is he, who was at that time only 30 years old, has not played then, is not yet to be determined.

In the National Team

Michel Stievenard denied in July 1960 2 A- internationals for France; a hit not succeed in doing. Coach Albert Batteux had called him in the French squad for the first European Championship finals, where both the semi-finals ( 4:5 against Yugoslavia ) is used as well in the match for third place ( 0-2 against the CSSR) - but as a half- linker, which is not Stievenards corresponded to the usual position of the club, because it was set to left winger Jean Vincent.
