Michel Weber

Michel Weber ( born 1963 in Brussels) is a Belgian philosopher who is best known as an interpreter of Alfred North Whitehead and as a representative of process philosophy.

Life

After studying industrial engineering, completed in 1986, at the Facultés universitaires Saint -Louis in Brussels, he moved to study philosophy at the Université catholique de Louvain. After graduating in 1991 he started his PhD there just about the anthropic principle and the teleology in the philosophy of Aristotle, Thomas Aquinas and Immanuel Kant, which he completed in 1997. During this time he had a study period from 1993 to 1995 with John B. Cobb and David Ray Griffin at the Center for Process Studies in Claremont. His doctoral thesis was the Späth philosophy Whiteheads the subject.

From 1997 to 2007 Weber was a lecturer in philosophy at the Catholic University in Louvain- la -Neuve. During this time he established a network of activities for the promotion of the process concept in philosophy. These include a variety of conferences as well as several book series.
