Michele Serena

Michele Serena ( born March 10, 1970 in Mestre ( VE) ) is a retired Italian footballer, who predominantly played at various positions in the right side defense, but also as a defensive midfielder.

Career

Michele Serena began his career in the 1986/87 season the club of his hometown, the AC Mestre, Serie C2. In 1988 he succeeded with Mestre promotion to Serie C1. 1990 Juventus became aware of the agile defender and took him to Turin. Without a firm place in the squad to have Serena there was involved in the same year the profits of the UEFA Cup. When he received a regular place at Juventus in the season 1990/91, he moved to the winter break for AC Monza in Serie C1, in order to play.

Already the next season saw him again in Serie A, this time at Hellas Verona, but where he stayed for one season only. For the season 1992/93 he moved to Sampdoria. In Genoa he stayed for three seasons and won the 1994 Coppa Italia. A subsequent, from 1995 to 1998, ending stay at Fiorentina 1996 led to a further winning the Cup.

Then Serena went for a season to Spain, in the Primera División for Atlético Madrid. Atlético experienced after a good start no satisfactory course of the season and was only Table Thirteenth in the Spanish league. In the UEFA Cup, however, they reached the semi-finals where the club against AC Parma 1:3 and 1:2 defeated.

Parma is it also drew Serena in the following season 1999 /2000. Here he won the Supercoppa Italiana his last title. In 2000 he moved to Inter Milan, where he still four seasons long the squad belonged, before he ended his active career in the Lombard metropolis with the 2002/03 season.

National

1998 Serena won his first and only appeal to the Squadra Azzurra.
