Michelle Carter (athlete)

Michelle Carter ( born October 12, 1985 in San Jose, California) is an American shot putter.

Carter won the silver medal at the World Youth Championships in Debrecen in 2001 and in 2004 was in Grosseto Junior World Champion. In 2006, she won at the NCAA Indoor Championships. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, she took the 15th place.

Carter was at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin in 2009 and sixth at the World Athletics Championships 2011 in Daegu ninth. Their first international medal in the adult area, she won third in the IAAF World Indoor Athletics Championships 2012 in Istanbul. In London, she finished fifth in the Olympic Games. At the World Athletics Championships 2013 in Moscow, she missed a medal in fourth place when an inch.

Michelle Carter is 1,75 m tall and weighs 107 kg. She is coached by Jon Drummond, 2000 Olympic gold medalist in the 4 x 100 - meter relay, and her father, Michael Carter, 1984 Olympic silver medalist in the shot put and former football player.
