Michelle Freeman

Michelle Freeman ( born May 5, 1969 in Saint Catherine Parish ) is a former Jamaican athlete, which came into existence mainly in the 100 - meter hurdles.

She won (1991-1994 and 1997) a total of five times at Jamaican Championships in the 100 - meter hurdles. Among her greatest international success in this discipline include the bronze medal at the World Athletics Championships in 2007 and the victory at the Commonwealth Games 2004.

Also in the 60 - meter hurdles, she was successful and won once each in IAAF World Indoor Championships, the gold and silver medal. With her personal best of 7.74 s, it is still the fifth- fastest woman on this track (as of May 2009).

She was also a member of the Jamaican 4 × 100 m relay. At the World Athletics Championships in Stuttgart in 1993 she won the season in third place. In 1996, she also won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Atlanta, together with Juliet Cuthbert, Nikole Mitchell, and Merlene Ottey.

Michelle Freeman is 1,70 m tall and weighed 63 kg to their active time. In 1997 she was elected to Jamaica Sportswoman of the Year.
