Micki DuPont

Michael " Micki " DuPont ( born April 15, 1980 in Calgary, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is under contract for the Kloten Flyers of the Swiss National League A since the 2010/11 season.

Career

DuPont began his career in 1996 in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League with the Kamloops Blazers, for which he was active until the end of the season 1999/ 00. During the NHL Entry Draft 2000, the leaders of the Calgary Flames secured the transfer of rights to the right-handed shooters, as they selected him in the ninth round in a total of 270 positions. In the summer of 2000, he finally joined the National Hockey League ( NHL) for the Flames, which however in their farm team, the Saint John Flames, put it in the American Hockey League ( AHL ). In two seasons, he arrived there on only 18 NHL games. The Flames finally exchanged it with the Pittsburgh Penguins, DuPont, however, was only active for their AHL farm team Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins there.

It was followed by three seasons in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga with the polar bears Berlin, with whom he could celebrate the German championship in 2005 and 2006. 2006 DuPont signed a contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins and polar bears left Berlin. For the Pittsburgh Penguins, he could not prevail again and only came three times for use. The majority of the season he spent with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the AHL. In the 2007 /08 season, he completed two games for the St. Louis Blues. The Peoria Rivermen DuPont completed 66 games. For the season 2008/ 09 DuPont moved to Switzerland and played for the EV train. In November 2009 it was announced that DuPont changes to the 2010/11 season for three years to the Kloten Flyers. In 2012 he extended his contract until 2016.

Internationally

DuPont was used at the 2006 World Ice Hockey Championships in Canada's national team.
