Microassembler

Microassembler as an aid is known which is able to generate from readable symbolic binary switching instructions of a microprogram microcode. The procedure is analogous to that of a (macro) assemblers, the program translates and compiles readable from macro definitions and mnemonics a set of instructions into machine code.

Since the creation of error- free microcode detailed knowledge of programmed micro program control and arithmetic unit is needed which is not always freely available, microassembler are mainly used in the manufacture of microelectronic programmed components and the programming of those firmware, less for private purposes. In the learning software microcode simulator Micro a micro assembly in the form of a micro- code editor is implemented, which allows microinstructions menu easily controlled together as a microcode.
