Microcar (brand)

Microcar is a French manufacturer of automobiles. The company belongs to the Beneteau Group.

Company History

The boat manufacturer Constructions Nautiques Jeanneau from Les Herbiers began in 1980 with the production of light vehicles. The brand name is Microcar. In 1988 the company was renamed in Microcar Sarl and 1997 in New Jeanneau Co.

Rolling stock

The model range consists of the MC 1 (2.80 m long) for two people and the MC 2 ( 3.10 m long) for four or more luggage. Both vehicles are 1.49 m wide and 1.42 m high, have front-wheel drive and a fully automatic transmission.

As light motor vehicles they are equipped with a diesel engine. One option is an engine by Lombardini 505 cc engine and a Yanmar with 523 cc displacement. The engines deliver 4 kW. The Yanmar engine has a higher consumption, but also a higher torque. The top speed is specified with 45 km / h.

As a light motor vehicle, the Microcar can be driven with the driving license class S. The old moped classes 1, 4 and 5 from before 1989 can be rewritten in the driving license points in S class.
