Microdata (statistics)

Micro-data or individual data are the original data of statistical surveys, which relate to individuals. They are the opposite of macro data ( group data, aggregated data). Microdata for data protection reasons as anonymous in public use files available to the public generally.

Through compaction ( aggregation) and plausibility so-called macro data can be generated from the micro-data.
