Micrografx

Micrografx Inc. was founded by J. Paul and George Grayson, Texas Richardson in June 1982 and was one of the first providers of graphic software under Microsoft Windows surface. Even in the first year a European subsidiary, the Micrografx ( Germany ) GmbH was founded with headquarters in Unterschleissheim near Munich.

History

Micrografx went in July 1990 to the Exchange, the shares were traded under the symbol MGXI on NASDAQ.

Mid-1990s was Micrografx a leader in graphics software for Windows, with two product lines: business products and consumer products.

On April 2, 1996, the software company Visual Software, Inc, a provider of 3D graphics programs taken over by an exchange of shares.

In October 2001, Micrografx was acquired by Corel Corporation and incorporated into the design division at the Corel product portfolio. The range for process optimization is conducted since 2003 under the name iGrafx as an independent business unit within Corel.

Products

The product range included both known image editing and drawing programs such as Micrografx Picture Publisher and Micrografx Designer as recognized in the market as visualization tools for process modeling as the iGrafx.

  • ABC Flow Charter, a complete solution for fast visualization, professional planning and quality management,
  • ABC SnapGraphics for quickly visualizing ideas and concepts,
  • The graphics - rounder Micrografx Works
  • The painting and drawing program Micrografx Windows Draw,
  • Micrografx Designer Power Pack, a complete solution for graphics, technical illustration and image editing with designers, Picture Publisher and Kai's Power Tools,
  • Micrografx Photo Magic for Image Processing
  • The presentation and infotainment program Micrografx Charisma, and
  • Windows OrgChart for Organisation charts.

For the consumer sector included the time and creative programs Crayola Amazing Art Adventure and Crayola Art Studio for children from 3 to 6 and 6 to 12 years.

  • Micrografx In-A -Vision - the first not developed by Microsoft Windows application
  • Micrografx Picture Publisher - software for editing photos and bitmap graphics.

The last English full version of Picture Publisher 10.1 is now available as freeware. The German -language manual for version 10 is also freely available.
