Microhyla pulchra

Microhyla is an amphibian genus of the family -mouthed.

Description

The pupils are round. The tongue is elliptic, entire and free behind lifted. Palate teeth are missing. Before the throat are one or two rugae present. The eardrum is invisible. The fingers are free. The toes are connected free or webbed. However, these do not intervene between the metatarsals of the 4th and 5th toe. The fingers and toes are pointed and more or less broadened greatly. They have simple, bony phalanges. The Praecoracoide and Omosternum missing. The sternum is cartilaginous. The transverse processes of the Sacralwirbels are excessively broadened.

Occurrence

The genus comes from the Japanese Ryukyu Islands and China in the north to India, Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia to Sumatra, Borneo, Java and Bali before.
