Micros Systems

MICROS Systems, Inc. is an American software manufacturer specializing in solutions for billing and management companies in the hotel and catering industry, tour operators and organizers of cruises as well as in companies in the leisure and entertainment industry. In addition, the required hardware is available. The systems are designed as a single-user, network solution or as software as a service. With Micros Fidelio, the company is the world leader in the field of point-of- sale solutions for hotels and restaurants and has thereby created a de facto standard for companies and employees in this sector.

Micros Systems was founded in 1977 under the name Picos Manufacturing, Inc. and changed its name in 1978 Micros Systems, Inc. at the company's headquarters in Columbia, Maryland, the company employs approximately 700 people. Micros Systems sells its products through a network of 45 subsidiaries and 90 distributors in 50 countries and achieved in the 30 June 2013 financial year ending on a total turnover of approximately 1.2 billion U.S. dollars. The company is listed on the NASDAQ.
