Microsoft BASIC

Microsoft BASIC is a BASIC interpreter which has been successfully developing in 1976 for the KIM -1 computer. Next versions have been created for other 6502, 6800 and 6809 based systems. The programming language was the first product with which the company went to the Microsoft market. It was developed from Altair BASIC.

Microsoft BASIC was a lucrative licensing model that Microsoft BASIC purchasing from the producer on their computers, and deliver in the ROM of the computer. This system of distribution of BASIC was particularly successful in the 1970s and 1980s.
