Attractions
Casino
Today's Casino is located on the promenade of Middelkerke opposite Epernayplein. It was built in the Norman style in 1954. In addition to games, the building also has a so-called Baccarazaal ( auditorium ), in which numerous annual events take place.
Drunken fountain ( Dronkenput )
It was originally built as an underground water reservoir end of the 19th century to store drinking water for the community. By an increase of the ground water, the whole was pushed up and came to the surface. The water mirror leaning walls give the visitor the feeling of being drunk. Hence the name " Dronkenput " came.
Sint- Willibrord 's Church (Sint - Willibrorduskerk )
The St. Willibrord 's Church is the parish church of Middelkerke. The doors are a relic of the 17th century. Apart from these, the church was demolished in the 19th century for the most part and replaced by a neo-Gothic church. In the 30s of the 20th century, the southern part was widened and has two doors.
Meeting house
1893 the council agreed on the use of the former parish as a community center. This was built 1924-1925 after the 1st World War and is about as large as the original building. The building is a historical monument since 2002.
