Middle pharyngeal constrictor muscle
Pars ceratopharyngea (musculi constrictoris pharyngis medii ): - Cornu minus ossis hyoidei
Pushes the pieces of food before swallowing the direction esophagus
Glossopharyngeal nerve ( cranial nerve IX) Vagus nerve ( cranial nerve X)
The Musculus pharyngeal constrictor medius ( from Latin musculus " muscle ", constringere " pull together ", from the Greek pharynx " throat " and Latin medius "in the center located " ) to German medium pharynx, a fan-shaped, striated muscle (skeletal muscle), which, together with the superior and inferior pharyngeal musculi constrictores, the muscular part of the pharynx forms. He is trained very prominent, especially in the dorsal and lateral areas. At the posterior pharyngeal wall, the paired parts of the muscle are connected to each other through the raphe of the pharynx, which also serves as the Schlundschnürern approach.
The muscle can be further subdivided into:
- Pars chondropharyngea musculi constrictoris pharyngis medii
- Pars ceratopharyngea musculi constrictoris pharyngis medii
Function
The pharyngeal constrictor medius muscle constricts the pars oralis of the pharynx during swallowing and thus pushes the pieces of food towards the esophagus before.
