Midori (Gunma)

Midori (Japaneseみどり 市, -shi ) is a city in Gunma Prefecture on Honshu, the main island of Japan.

History

Midori was born on 1 March 2006 by the merger of the municipalities Kasakake (笠 悬 町, machi ) of the district Nitta, omama (大 间 々 町, machi ) of the district Yamada and Azuma (东村, -machi ) of the district Seta.

In previous Kasakake the archaeological site Iwajuku is with the hitherto oldest examples of human habitation in Japan.
