Midtre Gauldal

Midtre Gauldal is a commune (municipality ) in the central Norwegian county Sør -Trøndelag.

It is located approximately 50 km south of Trondheim in the mountains and has several places in the valley of the River Gaula and several side valleys. Administrative seat and largest town is Støren; more settlements are Budal, Singsås and Soknedal.

The rivers Gaula, Sokna and Bua are known for their salmon abundance.
