Bodice is a municipality with 1789 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Innsbruck Land in Tirol ( Austria ).

Geography

Bodice is located in front Stubaital on a gently rising slope of the valley, at the foot of 2718 m above sea level. A. high Serles.

Community structure

The community consists of only one cadastral municipality, a village and a Zählsprengel bodice.

Places are the villages bodice ( the capital ) and Oweges, the valley of bodice and the Rotten Bachleiten on Zirkenbach, Pflusental above the Ruetz and Kirchbrücke at Telfes.

History

On the magic Unterbichl early historical traces of the La Tene period were noted.

Originally from pre-Roman place-name appears in 1100 as Miders and Myeders and later as Miederes. He is probably derived from the Celtic bidaras what, estate of small farmsteads means ' from. 1392 bodice is called Oblei (municipality ).

From 1690 to 1797 and from 1826 to 1925 was bodice seat of the court for the Stubai Valley. In the 16th and 17th centuries, silver and iron mining was carried out in Mill Valley at the foot of the Serles.

Regional Policy

The municipality is part of the Tyrolean Stubai Valley Planning Association and the tourism region Stubai Tirol. Seat of the Municipality Planning Association 's bodice, chairman of the Mayor ibid., Manfred Leitgeb. Headquarters of the Tourist Association is in the Stubai in Neustift house.

Center of the municipality is the village bodice. It is located about 11 kilometers south of the city center of Innsbruck. It lies on the Talschulter of the Stubai Valley, at the Schoenberg is, on shady right ( south ) of the Ruetz. This starts here from the Stubai valley in the wooded Ruetzschlucht fall.

The scattered village beside the Stubai Valley Road ( B183 ) comprises the major chunk of the community population. It was was settled in the early Middle Ages, and has to have houses with baroque frescoes in the center.

The small talauswärtige neighboring Oweges as well Bachleiten are already largely overgrown with bodice. To the south it extends to the valley station Serlesbahn still beyond the Zirkenbachs until Hinterhocheck at the beginning of the Mühltal. Behind the gravel plant bodice, a new district begins to train with the business park near Fulpmes.

Economy and infrastructure

Through the community Fürt the Stubaitalstraße ( B183 ). The place is with Innsbruck by bus line Stubai ( line ST of the ivb ) connected.

Directly from the seasonal tourist walk from the Serles, which opens up a ski and hiking area. Bodice is also known for its long summer toboggan run, which extends from the mountain station to the gondola station. It leads mostly through a forest and partly parallel to the route of the cable car.

The place is connected to Innsbruck by a bus line.
