Mieko Kamimoto

Mieko Kamimoto (Jap.神 本 美 恵 子, Kamimoto Mieko; born January 22, 1948 County Asakura, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan ) is a Japanese politician of the Democratic Party ( Minshutō ) and Member of the Sangiin, the House of Lords. Within the party she belongs to Yokomichi group.

Kamimoto Following her studies at the Fukuoka Kyoiku Daigaku as a teacher in primary schools in Kanagawa and Fukuoka. In the 1990s it belonged in different functions to the Executive Committee ( shikkō - iinkai ) Japanese teachers union ( Nikkyōsō ) to.

In the 2001 election Sangiin Kamimoto received as a candidate of the Democratic Party in national proportional representation with 173 705 people votes the eight highest share of the vote on the list and was thus chosen scarce. In 2007, she was with 224,999.035 votes, seventh place, safely re-elected on the Democratic list; 2013, it received 176 248 votes and reached the fifth list place, which was sufficient despite the seven-passenger historically weak truncation of the Democratic Party in the proportional representation for re-election.

In Sangiin Kamimoto was 2009-2010 Chairman of the Board. From 2011 to 2012 ( Noda Cabinet ) she was Parliamentary Secretary in the MEXT.
