Miel I Dam

The Miel I Dam is a large dam on the river La Miel in Colombia and with 188 meters height, the currently highest dam in RCC or RCC construction ( RCC = roller -compacted concrete ). The dam was completed in 2002, surpassing the pre-existing record of 136 meters.
The dam is part of a hydroelectric project in the district Norcasia in the province of Caldas. The dam was built between December 1997 and December 2002. The RCC with a volume of 1.75 million cubic meters was introduced within 25 months.
