Mielikki

Mielikki is the goddess of the forest and hunting in the Finnish mythology. She is the wife of Tapio, the god of the forest, and the mother of Nyyrikki and Tuulikki. Mielikki to have contributed in large part to create the bear. She also has healing abilities. There are clear analogies to the Diana myth.

In the Finnish national epic Kalevala, Lemminkäinen has prayed to Mielikki and her husband and offered them gold and silver. This enabled him to catch the moose of Hiisi later. In a later part of the Kalevala Mielikki cattle should protect, which was grazing in the forest.
