Miguel Abensour

Miguel Abensour ( b. 1939 ) is a French philosopher, specialized in political philosophy. He is an emeritus professor of political philosophy at the University of Paris -Diderot and former president of the Collège International de Philosophie.

Life

Miguel Abensour has written for the French journals Textures, Libre and turmoil. Since 1974 he has been editor of the series Critique De La Politique ( from the publisher Payot & Rivages ). Abensour gained attention with his contributions to the reception of the Frankfurt School in France.

In his works, and numerous articles, he has tried, understood as " democracy " against the state to bring democracy to the idea of ​​utopia in harmony, influenced by the criticism Emmanuel Levinas to Martin Buber's idea of interpersonal relationships - that is I and Thou relationship the ego and contrasted.
