Miguel Antonio Caro

Miguel Antonio Caro ( born November 10, 1843 in Bogotá; † August 5, 1909 ibid ) was in the period from 1892 to 1894 and Vice President in the wake until 1898 President of the Republic of Colombia. He also was an important linguist, philosopher and political theorist.

His philosophical and political outlook was shaped by Catholicism.

His major works include papers published in various newspapers, some of them published by himself. Books were published almost only as collections of works after his death. The exceptions are his grammars.
